After the Droid 4, another rumor has been put to rest with the official announcement of the Nokia Lumia 900 by AT&T. So all those Windows Phone fans who were disappointed with the Finnish manufacturer for releasing the rather low-end Lumia 710 in the U.S., might as well wait for some more time and lay hands on this latest flagship model from Nokia.

Splashed in shades of matte black and cyan, the Lumia 900’s front panel is dominated by a 4.3-inch AMOLED ClearBlack display, the largest so far in the Nokia clan. Acquiring multitasking properties from a 1.4GHz processor, this device runs the 4G LTE network. And as opposed to speculations pointing towards a Tango OS, it uses the Windows Phone 7.5 or Mango platform.

“The introduction of the Nokia Lumia 900 with AT&T is another significant milestone in the ongoing rollout of Nokia’s global smartphone strategy,” stated Chris Weber, president of Nokia Americas. “The Nokia Lumia 900 is designed specifically with the US in mind and the announcement of this collaboration with AT&T, in addition to other recent announcements, signifies a new dawn for Nokia in the U.S.”

The rear facing 8MP camera boasts of attributes such as Carl Zeiss optics, dual LED flash and auto focus to capture good quality images even in poorly lit conditions. Additionally, a 1MP front facing snapper accompanies the primary camera. This webcam features a large aperture and wide angle lens to project sharp images during video conferencing over the internet.

The Nokia Lumia 900 is powered by a 1,830mAh battery and offers support to applications like the AT&T U-verse mobile app, Nokia Drive, CNN app, Univision application and more. The Lumia phone will also let users enjoy games, as EA has partnered with Microsoft to release its popular titles on the Windows Marketplace. It will be pre-loaded with People Hub, ESPN sports hub and Internet Explorer amongst others.

The AT&T Nokia Lumia 900 release date and price are yet to be revealed.
