The iPhone 5 India launch has gone live through Airtel and as we had reported earlier, its basic version carries a price tag of Rs. 45,500. The black-colored handset is also up for sale in variants featuring 32GB and 64GB internal memory.

Airtel seems to have given the white version of this phone a miss. The service provider has also revealed that the device will be made available with various data plans and will be compatible with HSPA+ and DC-HSPA networks. Though it is shipping now, those who order it from the official carrier website will receive their devices within a week.

The latest iPhone builds up on the success of its predecessors and features a larger touchscreen. It provides multi-touch real estate of 4 inches and this Retina display with a 800:1 contrast ratio, can render visuals in 1136 x 640p resolution. Its rechargeable battery can cough up the juice for talk time of up to 8 hours on the 3G mode.

Moreover, the iPhone 5 comes armed with dual cameras. An 8MP iSight camera with LED flash that allows users to capture still shots while recording videos and a 1.2MP front-facing FaceTime webcam for video calling. It can support multiple applications at the same time, thanks to the dual core A6 chipset. Also, the iOS 6 platform brings multiple new attributes as well as an improved Siri.

The 16GB Airtel iPhone 5 can be picked up for a price of Rs. 45,500, while the 32GB and 64GB models set users back by Rs. 52,500 and Rs. 59,500, respectively.
