Orange brings Alcatel Facebook integrated phones to Europe and Africa

Orange Alcatel One Touch Phone

It seems like Orange is taking social networking very seriously as it recently announced a range of mobile phones with some Facebook dedicated features. The line-up includes the Alcatel One Touch 585F, One Touch 813F, and One Touch 908F.

Deemed to be affordable according to the network carrier, the handsets are expected to be made available for a price range within €100. The Facebook-centric nature of these phones is made evident with the ‘F’ key gracing its keypad. Out of these devices, the One Touch 908F Android smartphone by Alcatel is exclusive to the network carrier.

“The rise of the smartphone and the explosion of social networks have completely changed how people keep in touch and share content. Until now many consumers across Africa and Europe have not had access to a phone that offers deep Facebook integration at an affordable price,” commented Yves Maitre, Senior Vice President of Mobile Multimedia and Devices, Orange.

“We feel strongly that it is Orange’s role to enable customers to enjoy a digitally rich, connected life and this and future work with Facebook and Alcatel One Touch will allow us to open up mobile social media access to even more of our customers,” added Maitre.

The phones are also made more compatible with the social networking site by added features like easy uploading and tagging of photos. Also, Orange offers unlimited Facebook access to consumers of these handsets, without extra data charges. The handsets can be purchased at budget-friendly tariffs and bundles. Also, the operator has expressed plans to include more devices in this portfolio by 2012.

These Facebook integrated handsets from Orange are expected to land in approximately 15 countries in Europe and Africa. Although, the roll out will begin by the end of this year, the Orange Alcatel One Touch 585F, One Touch 813F, and One Touch 908F price details have not been disclosed yet.
