Verizon phones selling at a penny on Amazon

Amazon Verizon One Penny Phones

Verizon phones are indeed being sold for merely a penny on Amazon Wireless and if this has users thinking that the offer must be on phones nobody really wants then there’s a surprise in store for sure. Amazon is giving away more than two dozen different smartphones in this sale, the majority of which belong to the Android family.

Firstly, for Windows Phone enthusiasts, the list features an HTC Trophy, while BlackBerry fans can take home either the Bold 9650, the Bold 9930 or the Curve 9330 for a penny. So basically the range doesn’t display mere feature phones, but rather ones that may invite the envy of the neighbors.

Android fans have choices galore with Motorola’s Droid Bionic 4G featuring on the list. Complete with a dual-core 1GHz processor and 1GB RAM, this Droid Bionic is a Gingerbread slice that sports an 8MP camera. The device also incorporates the ZumoCast and the webtop applications, in addition to HTML5 support that enhances the browsing experience.

The Android list extends to add HTC’s Thunderbolt, Samsung’s Droid Charge and the HTC Droid Incredible 2. These devices boast of interesting specs coupled with attractive designs. The catch here is that a new contract has to be signed, involving new activations. The retailer brings in the offer at the time when Apple’s next smartphone has been making headlines for its pre-orders.

The Verizon phones can be bought for $0.01 on Amazon in the ‘Penny-Pincher Sale’ that will go on till the 17 of this month.
