Motorola Lapdock 100 landing on Verizon Wireless, AT&T and Sprint

Created for webtop enabled smartphones, the Motorola Lapdock 100 is scheduled to hit carriers such as Verizon Wireless, AT&T and Sprint this quarter. The device is equipped with a 10.1 inch high resolution display and hosts a number a features that provide a laptop-like experience.

For convenience in input, the keyboard is fitted with dedicated Android keys, a touchpad, Wi-Fi and comes in a lightweight design which should make it an ideal travel companion. Through its multitasking capabilities, users can conveniently take calls and at the same time browse the web, view images, listen to music or run Android applications. Weighing less than 1kg, the device is capable of providing up to 5 hours of battery life on a single charge.

For an enhanced web experience, the accessory is equipped with the Firefox browser that enables tabbed surfing and supports Adobe Flash technology. Through Google Docs or QuickOffice, users can conveniently view and edit documents. Besides these, the Lapdock 100 features a PC-like file manager that allows files to be modified from the handset’s internal memory or on the microSD card. What’s more, the device also sports two USB ports that help expand the memory or create a backup of all content.

The Motorola Lapdock 100 is scheduled to be available from AT&T on October 17, followed by Verizon Wireless and Sprint later this quarter. Furthermore, the device is currently compatible with the Motorola Atrix 2, Photon 4G and Droid Bionic smartphones.
