Nokia will make available its N9 smartphone in Australia through leading operators and retailers such as Optus, Telstra and Vodafone among others. The ‘all-screen’ Nokia N9 smartphone which features no buttons had first been unveiled in June.
Adding to the style factor of the Nokia N9 is the 3.9-inch AMOLED panel with a ClearBlack display, making the colors appear deeper and more vivid. In the absence of a home button, users have to employ its touch and swipe gesture support to navigate around the interface.

To ensure that the color of the handset doesn’t get ruined by scratches, Nokia says that it has crafted its casing out of a material which is generally used in ice hockey helmets. The paint is poured right through this material and the process is believed to keep the color intact. Reportedly, the said material delivers high quality antenna performance resulting in better reception, voice quality, decreased number of dropped calls and a higher GPS accuracy.
The device is equipped with an 8MP autofocus camera with Carl Zeiss optics, wide-angle lens, HD video capture and large lens aperture that is seemingly responsible for enhanced performance even in dim lighting. This NFC-enabled smartphone should let users share photos and videos with compatible devices very conveniently. The handset also features free turn-by-turn drive and walk navigation with voice guidance, access to the Nokia Store and a user interface possessing three homescreeens.
The Nokia N9 will be available in blue, pink and black shades from next month for a price of 799 AUD (approx. Rs. 38,986).
