Virgin Mobile makes an appearance with stylish LG Optimus V

Virgin Mobile has always leveraged the mobile phone segment with feature-rich offerings and was last spotted unleashing the Android-powered Samsung Intercept smartphone. The company has now extended its portfolio with the newest LG Optimus V which captivates many with eye-catchy characteristics.

Virgin Mobile Beyond Talk plans begin at $25 (approx Rs. 1,140) per month for 300 minutes of voice and offer unlimited messaging, IM, email, social networking and web access. The $40 (approx Rs. 1,825) plan delights mobile buffs with 1,200 minutes of voice while the $60 (approx Rs. 2,737) plan renders unlimited voice minutes each month.

“More than 44 percent of smartphones purchased in the third quarter of 2010 were Android based with the iPhone coming in second1,” commented Bob Stohrer, vice president-Marketing, Virgin Mobile USA. “With LG Optimus V on Android, Virgin Mobile customers who crave constant connectivity get a highly functional device with a high-resolution 3.2” touch screen paired with an affordable monthly plan and no annual contract.”

The newest entrant bundles together social networking apps, Microsoft Outlook Exchange e-mail and advanced messaging capabilities to provide owners with an enhanced mobile experience. Users can immerse themselves in various engaging apps available through the Android Market.

Adorned by a 3.2-inch touchscreen display, the handset touts to be 3G and Wi-Fi capable. Fitted with a 3.2MP camera, the device comes integrated with social apps such as YouTube and Google Talk. Besides Swype technology, the LG Optimus V comes along with a music player which enables users to enjoy their most liked music collection with ease. The unit comes packed in Virgin Mobile’s new handset packaging that claims to be more eco-friendly.

The LG Optimus V can be snapped up from Radio Shack and the official website for $149.99 (approx Rs. 6,843). It is expected to be available via other retailers throughout this month.
