Sony Ericsson X10 handset up for pre-order through Vodafone UK

Vodafone UK is set to pick up a number of Android-run handsets such as the Google Nexus One, HTC Legend and HTC Desire soon. For now, those across the U.K. who’ve been waiting for Sony Ericsson’s X10 Android phone to hit stores can get one through Vodafone UK.

Users can play games, watch videos, surf the web and view pictures on the handset’s expansive 4” touchscreen display. The 8MP camera incorporated into its chassis is attributed with face detection capabilities. The device extends HSDPA/3G and Wi-Fi connectivity. Additionally, its 1GB of memory can be upgraded by up to 16GB.

The phone runs the Android 1.6 OS and allows users access to numerous apps available through the Android Marketplace. The X10 can be conveniently integrated with Google service like Google Mail and Picasa as also Twitter or Facebook. Moreover, it will also be sold pre-loaded with Vodafone 360 apps for Vodafone Music and MyWeb.

Vodafone will release the Sony Ericsson X10 on April 2, 2010 for £35 (approx. Rs.2,350) per month on a two-year contract basis. With this plan, subscribers will be able to avail of 900 minutes, 500MB of mobile internet access and unlimited text messaging.
