Verizon Wireless to sell LG Cosmos phone

LG Cosmos First the HTC EVO 4G, then the Samsung Galaxy S, mobile phone enthusiasts have their day made and how! Next on the list of phones up for consideration is the LG Cosmos handset that will be out starting from tomorrow, according to an announcement made by Verizon Wireless and LG Electronics.

The highlighted features of this rounded candy bar-styled phone that flaunts a metallic finish are its slide-out QWERTY keyboard and integrated social networking features. Users are delivered one touch access to the speaker phone and voice clarity is intuitively tweaked according to ambient noise levels. The messaging and communications options comprise of e-mail, IM, SMS, voice messaging and chat.

LG’s freshest offering comes with an embedded 1.3MP camera that renders three different color resolutions, noise reduction for enhanced image quality in poorly lit conditions, image editor, up to 2x zoom, insta-uploading of photos onto online albums, customizable brightness, shutter/cue sound, white balance photometry and more. It also provides easy access to SNS like Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.

The phone accommodates speaker-independent voice commands such as Go To, Call, Send Msg To, My Verizon, Help, Redial, Search, Check and Contacts. There are dedicated favorites shortcut keys for up to ten contacts, a microUSB port and GPS support. It can also be charged via a PC’s USB port and users may send calendar events, contact information or even print photos via Bluetooth.

LG Cosmos will be sold on a two-year customer contract basis starting from tomorrow at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores as well as their online store for $29.99 (approx. Rs.1,359).
