Lately, Samsung entered the dual SIM mobile phone market with three new handsets. Now, the company has signed a licensing agreement with Microsoft about the manufacturing of Windows Phone 7 devices in the UK.

The Galaxy S handsets’ manufacturer will integrate the Windows Phone 7 platform and some related application software into its smartphone lineup. Samsung’s hardware innovation and design will marry Microsoft’s software inheritance for the production of the mobile phones.

“The addition of Windows Phone 7 devices to Samsung’s smartphone portfolio is a significant milestone. Samsung’s new Windows Phone 7 based smartphones will play a key role in reinforcing Samsung’s leadership in the smartphone market and commitment to providing a range of devices across a variety of platforms,” shared Simon Stanford, Head of Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland.

“For years, Samsung has been a key partner in bringing new Windows phones to customers all over the world. Windows Phone 7 is an important release and we look forward to deepening our collaboration with Samsung on mobile devices and beyond, with our multi-screen strategy,” quoted Steve Guggenheimer, Corporate Vice President, OEM Division at Microsoft.

The smartphones featuring Windows Phone 7 will be fabricated to assist users in finding and consuming data, information and services required by them. The handsets are anticipated to be embedded with multiple Microsoft products including Xbox Live, Office, Bing, Windows Live and Zune. A completely enhanced user experience is touted to be delivered by these devices.

The Windows Phone 7 smartphones are expected to arrive in the U.S., Asia and Europe during this year.
