Recon Instruments’ Recon-Zeal Transcend SPPX and SPX now available

Transcend SPPX Goggles

Sport enthusiasts who love skiing and snowboarding are bound to drool all over this innovative gadget. Recon Instruments has now announced the availability of its new Recon-Zeal Transcend goggles with real-time GPS data viewable using a head-mounted display system.

This unique offering renders users real-time feedback which consists of speed, latitude/longitude, altitude, vertical distance traveled, total distance traveled, chrono/stopwatch mode, a run-counter, temperature and time. Touted to be the only pair of goggles featuring GPS capabilities, the gizmo comes with USB charging, data transfer and post-processing software. The dynamic goggles flaunt a user-friendly, futuristic interface for ease of use.

The Transcend goggles’ optical system boasts of a Zeal Optics’ frame design on a micro LCD display which is said to be hung about six feet in front of the user. With glove-friendly buttons, the newly unleashed offering allows riders and skiers to easily navigate through its full-color dashboard and feature screens. Zealots of snow sports can simply track their day’s statistics and overlay their entire alpine experience on satellite imagery with the help of Recon HQ software application for PC and Mac. This app is fabricated with a highlight editor which displays the interesting parts of a skiing session to the company’s website and HQ online community.

The two models of Recon-Zeal Transcend goggles are now available with different lens options through Recon’s official website. The Transcend SPPX with an SPPX polarized and photochromic lens costs $499 (approx Rs. 22,185), while the Transcend SPX fitted with an SPX polarized lens can be purchased for $399 (approx Rs. 17,734).
