Acer to unveil Android-capable Smartphone in September?

Acer Logo The latest buzz over the internet states that Acer will raise the curtains off the Android-based smartphone in September 2009.

According to grapevine, Acer’s first Android-powered toushcreeen smartphone that is all set for a September release will be called the A1. In the similar time frame, it is also whispered that the company will launch three more phones that would run on the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 platform.

Talk Android reported that an unknown source from the Taiwanese company revealed these details. However, the person wished to stay anonymous as he is not authorized to comment on the matter.

In February of this year, rumors were rolling all over the web uttering that Acer will debut a smartphone at MWC. Recently, an anecdote on Acer’s android-based netbook had also emerged on internet. Or else, let’s wait for Acer to make an official announcement.

The first Android phone T-Mobile G1, which was developed by HTC has already marked its presence in the market. Next in the line was the HTC Magic that is expected to roll out soon in the future sporting the same platform.
