Samsung expanded its touchscreen phones series by launching Samsung Star, Samsung Star 3G and Samsung BeatDJ full touchscreen phones in India. The company claims that Samsung Star leads its affordable full touchscreen phones category.
“Samsung Star and Samsung Star 3G are significant additions to our full-touch screen mobile portfolio, featuring all the essential functions in one single device. At Samsung , our effort is to deliver various full touch products for every consumer lifestyle,†states Sunil Dutt, Country Head, Samsung Mobile Division.
Sporting an 11.9mm slim compact body, Samsung Star (S5233) features a 7.63 cm wide display screen, a TouchWiz UI including mobile widgets and a stylus. The photo contact feature of the handset helps call a contact by a single click at the image assigned to the contact.
Samsung Star’s (S5603) multimedia characteristics include a 3.2 megapixel camera with smile recognition facility, 50MB internal memory expandable up to 8GB and supports multi-format music. The DNSe system is responsible for the phone’s better sound quality.
With the gesture control feature, the user can speedily dial numbers and unlock the touchscreen. Shazam’s find music service helps music recognition. Users can benefit from full Internet browsing, thanks to the incorporated accelerometer sensor for auto-rotation. Along with online widgets and photo blogging, the device offers access to Google applications like Google Search, Gmail and Google maps. It also features virtual QWERTY keyboard for messaging and handwriting features.
Samsung Star 3G (S5603) is a stylish and compact 3G enabled handset with a QVGA touchscreen. Its 3.2 megapixel camera comes with a power LED flash. It has 80MB internal memory that can be expanded up to 8GB.
Similar to Samsung Star (S5233), the Star 3G has adopted the TouchWiz UI and gesture control features to provide greater customizing options to the users. It also lets one browse the web with its incorporated accelerometer that facilitates auto-rotation.
Along with the Star series, Samsung has also extended its Beat series by introducing Samsung BeatDJ. The device claims to be an amazingly crafted full touchscreen handset that delivers quality sound.
The handset incorporates Bang and & Olufsen audio technology for better audio output. Every user can turn into a DJ and blend the preloaded sound effects and voice samples to their music, thanks to BeatDJ’s Disc UI and Beat DJ application.
“Samsung BEAT DJ is designed to take music on mobile phones to a whole new level of quality and exciting user experience. With amazing sound quality and advanced music application, the BEATDJ will appeal to a growing base of consumers who want to consolidate their music playing devices without compromising on style, function and experience.†states Dutt.
The users can pen down their records on the 7.1 cm display screen to create their own music. The handset is said to provide better sound owing to the included real stereo speakers and B&O’s ICEpower amplifier. The phone is equipped with a 3 megapixel camera and 50MB internal memory, expandable to 8GB.
Samsung Star (S5233), Samsung Star 3G (S5603) and Samsung BeatDJ are priced at Rs.11, 100, Rs.14, 499 and Rs.18, 990 respectively.

I bought Samsung star 3g 3 days back at chennai.
It is an awesome phone which i met in my budget n in my life.
i think it is best phone with audible features and i love to have that phone and iam going to have it

samsung star is nice cell it has various other features which made me to buy it and it is working properly and is making stars on my personality

Samsung star is really a cool device, with lots of features like touch screen, motion sensor, 3.2 mp cam.., better sound quality and that too at a reasonable price, but it’s only drawback is that the camera does not have a flash.
It does have a flash, Just on your camera mode click on the thunder sign on the top right of the screen, you will get the flash option just select the flash from there.
