AT&T intros handsets with full Web-browsing capability

Pantech Reveal Handset To meet the dynamic needs of the Internet-savvy consumer, AT&T has come up with a new lineup of handsets that flaunts full Web-browsing capabilities. This lineup includes four phones from Pantech and Samsung, the Pantech Reveal and Impact along with the Samsung Mythic and Flight. These handsets are the first to come embedded with AT&T’s faster and rich HTML mobile browser.

The Pantech Reveal is a slim slider phone that flaunts a full QWERTY keypad plus a numeric keypad. The unique feature of this handset is that both these keypads can be simultaneously used. The Pantech Impact is a touchscreen handset that flaunts a full OLED display. This phone has been optimized for messaging and comes with a full QWERTY keypad that pops out from the side. A sideways flip of the phone also reveals a second display screen.

“Customers expect to see the hottest mobile phones at AT&T stores and we’ve upped the ante for consumer handsets with our quick messaging phone portfolio over the past year,” said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president, Devices, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets. “Not only do these four new consumer phones have either a virtual or physical full keyboard, they now come with our richer and faster att.net mobile browser.”

The Mythic flaunts a large 3.3-inch touchscreen display along with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface. It also provides instant access to applications like AT&T Navigator, AT&T Social Net, att.net and more. The Samsung Flight is a vertical slider phone that boasts of its slim form factor. This handset has been specifically designed for messaging and will be made available in red and silver color options.

AT&T is planning to release the Samsung Flight and the Samsung Mythic in November, while the Pantech Reveal will be made available on October 18. However, there is no word on the pricing.
