Toshiba Cell Regza 55X1 gets an official introduction

The high-end LCD TV market has a new contender. This new HDTV from Toshiba is called the Cell Regza 55X1. This 55-inch HDTV flaunts a host of advanced features that promise to provide improved performance. The highlights of this device include ultra-high-speed processing and recording, enhanced navigation, seamless network interactivity and up to 8 simultaneous time-shift channels.

The Regza flaunts Toshiba’s Cell platform that is said to be a combination of Cell Broadband Engine and advanced image-processing algorithms. This HDTV is said to incorporate a massive dynamic contrast ratio of 50,00,000:1. The 55X1 comes embedded with a 3TB hard disk drive. Of this large storage capacity, 2TB is reserved for Regza’s time-shift machine. This time-shift machine allows users to catch up on missed programs with just the press of a button.

This 55-inch HDTV weighs approximately 44kg and consumes around 320W of energy. The roaming navigation function enables users to easily and quickly search for their favorite programs stored in the memory of this HDTV. The strikingly slim monitor and the stylish tuner are said to blend with virtually any room they are placed in. Both these devices flaunt an aluminum finish that is delivered by the alumite deposition process. The remote controller that the TV bundles up has been given a similar finish.

The Toshiba Cell Regza 55X1 HDTV is expected to hit the Japanese market by the beginning of December. The pricing details of this TV are yet to be disclosed.
