Samsung Behold II comes to T-Mobile USA

The Android platform is here to stay. T-Mobile USA and Samsung Mobile have teamed up to launch of their latest Android-based handset called the Samsung Behold II. This new phone is the fourth Android-device that T-Mobile is offering with a view to fulfill its commitment to the Open Handset Alliance. The Behold II will incorporate Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface and T-Mobile’s high-speed 3G network to provide a rich mobile experience.

Following the footsteps of its predecessor, the Behold II will be made available exclusively via T-Mobile. This touchscreen handset boasts of a 3.2-inch full AMOLED display. The sleek phone promises to provide wider viewing angels with crisp and bright colors. The TouchWiz user interface allows users to customize and personalize their home screen as well as provide one-touch access to their favorite and most commonly used features and applications.

“We’re excited to announce Samsung’s first Android-powered device with T-Mobile in the U.S.,” said Omar Khan, senior vice president of strategy and product management for Samsung Mobile. “The Behold II follows the success of the Behold that launched last year taking the device and user experience to the next level with the Android platform, a large 3.2-inch AMOLED screen, next generation TouchWiz user interface and customization capabilities and premium features.”

The Behold II comes equipped with a cube menu that provides quick access to six top multimedia features, including music, photos, videos as well as the Internet. This Wi-Fi enabled handset claims to provide instant access to various Google mobile services like the Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube and Google Talk.

“T-Mobile continues to expand our line-up of Android-powered phones in time for the holiday season with the addition of the Samsung Behold II,” said Travis Warren, director, product marketing, T-Mobile USA. “The premium screen and quality camera coupled with Samsung’s innovative cube menu makes the Behold II a multimedia powerhouse that’s made even stronger by T-Mobile’s high-speed 3G network.”

The 5 megapixel camera boasts of its varying features like autofocus, flash, five shooting modes and video capabilities. The other notable features of the Samsung Behold II include visual voicemail, MP3 player, up to 16GB of external memory and support for GPS and Bluetooth 2.1.

The exact release date and pricing details of the Samsung Behold II are under wraps. However, the Behold II is expected to hit the market in time for the holidays.
