Calling Popular Function

Now-a-days mobile phones have become an essential device in one’s life. It not only allows users to make calls but also enables people to be in touch with contacts through various other technologies like GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth and USB. Dedicated phones offer professionals the convenience of working from anywhere. In such a scenario, a research conducted by mobile interaction management expert SNAPin Software has brought out some interesting facts.

The survey shows that about 60 percent of British mobile users use their phones only for making calls and texting purposes. And 30 percent use mobile cameras. As low as 12 percent subscribers use e-mail facility or internet.

Blogging has become very popular in today’s era, but only 1 percent of mobile phone users for blogging purposes for it. And street navigation is the least accepted function by the users.

Also SNAPin Software observed that only 18 percent of the users refer to the user manual for using certain application.

“Today’s mobile phones are packed with functionality, yet many mobile users only discover a mere fraction of the features and applications available,” said Robert Lewis, president and CEO, SNAPin Software.

He further said, “We believe this situation is symptomatic of how mobile handset manufacturers and operators approach user education. Users need simpler and less time intensive ways of discovering their mobile phones’ potential. These need to be delivered at the right time – when users require them most.”

The result of the study is very surprising and is expected to help manufacturers to come out with phones that would match users’ requirements.
