HTC Touch Diamond now Boasts Opera Mobile 9.5

Why aren’t your phones showing the web pages as perfectly as you see it on the big screen? Well, it is not only the screen that would provide enhanced web browsing capabilities, but also an intuitive user interface would help for the same.

HTC Diamond, Opera Mobile HTC works closely with Opera to feature Opera Mobile 9.5 on the Touch Diamond, which recently released in India, allowing users to experience one-handed viewing and effortless navigation.

Once accessed, the phone delivers superior internet surfing that would enable consumers to view, scan and navigate pages quickly. They can even zoom into a particular content by using Opera Zoom. For better viewing, they have the freedom to turn the device sideways to automatically rotate the webpage view from a portrait to landscape view.

The other functionalities that can be operated through Opera Mobile 9.5 include improved tabbed browsing for multi-tasking, text wrap, history, bookmarks and copy texts.

“Opera Mobile 9.5 on the HTC Touch Diamond will bring to customers the most powerful Web browser yet on a mobile phone. Opera is on the road to give mobile Web browsing a complete facelift and an elevated user experience. This is just the beginning,” said Jon von Tetzchner, CEO, Opera Software.

Moreover, the latest handset will also possess an ability to share images from online photo albums or any other website via MMS and e-mail to their loved ones. Saving pages for offline browsing is also possible with the latest HTC-specific version of Opera Mobile 9.5.

Peter Chou, president and CEO, HTC Corp, mentioned “2008 will come to be known as the year the mobile Internet became usable and the HTC Touch Diamond will be one of the main devices driving this change. We have worked very closely with Opera Mobile to deliver a feature set and browsing experience that is optimized for mobile, but viewed like it would on a PC.”

The European launch of HTC Touch Diamond is scheduled in June, whereas North America and Latin America have to wait till the second half of 2008. India has already got a glance of the handset and Asia and the Middle East will see the device by end of this quarter.
