The World’s First Handset with Built-in Intelligent Key for Automobiles!

Nissan phone Automaker Nissan, wireless network provider NTT DoCoMo and electronics maker Sharp have collaborated together to launch the world’s first mobile phone that boasts an in-built intelligent key for automobiles.

This prototype phone will support intelligent key that makes use of two-way wireless communications to unlock/lock the car door and start/stop the engine, and electromagnetic technologies. Interestingly, it doesn’t require a separate device.

NTT DoCoMo is chiefly involved in marketing the first-ever automobile handset.

There are no details mentioned about the features and other software applications. Looking at the image, there are only two buttons available that act as an intelligent key. But, this mobile phone is a flip phone and it will apparently possess the essential features.

Three companies will demonstrate the unique mobile phone with built-in Intelligent Key at CEATEC Japan 2008. Apparently, the phone will hit the Japanese stores by early 2009. No word on the pricing.
