Yahoo oneConnect

After oneSearch, Yahoo has introduced its new mobile communications technology, named Yahoo! oneConnect, at MCW. Handset users are ensured to access an array of mobile communication tools such as e-mail, instant messaging, text messaging and social networking, all in one address book with this new feature.

Now, you can be in touch with others via a wide range of well-known social networking, professional networking and many more community sites. Moreover, you will also be able to view status updates, photos along with other recent activities through the application.

Yahoo!’s executive vice president, Marco Boerries, said, “We intend to reinvent mobile communications through Yahoo! oneConnect, a revolutionary new mobile communications service that will combine integrated mobile messaging with a socially-connected address book.”

It supports e-mail services such as Yahoo! Mail, MSN Hotmail, Gmail and AOL Mail. It also allows consumers to operate various IM applications such as AIM, Google Talk, and Yahoo!’s own service through openConnect’s open API that needs to be plugged into the application’s instant messaging feature.

oneConnect features Status and Pulse that enables phone owners to update others on their latest happenings. It also comes incorporated with location sensing technology for hunting down and chatting with other oneConnect users.

Yahoo! one Connect will be available on hundreds of devices around the world by the second quarter of 2008.
