AT&T and Pantech announces Pantech Duo Mobile Handset

Pantech Duo phone and AT&T logo AT&T has announced the launch of the Pantech Duo mobile phone in United States. The phone features the convenience of both full QWERTY and a numeric keypad in one sleek 3G device.

Boasting dual-sliding, double-keyboard design, this UMTS/HSDPA-enabled smart device is one of the first devices in the AT&T portfolio to be powered by the Windows Mobile 6 operating system.

AT&T’s BroadbandConnect network provides an average download speed of 600 Kbps to 1.4 Mbps. Users can access e-mail and other data applications and browse the Web along with outgoing calls through the largest international wireless footprint.

The drop-down QWERTY keyboard in the Duo makes an ideal way to write e-mail and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, while the numeric keypad is perfect for sending quick texts and dialing. A flip of the wrist brings users into contact with either keyboard or any mobile need.

In addition, AT&T Mobile Music and CV services has the ability to manage a variety of multi-media libraries, download and play stereo-quality music as well as watch TV shows from HBO, MTV, and ESPN and many more on wide screen that offers a resolution of 240×320 pixels. It also equips Internet Explorer Mobile, Windows Media Player 10 Mobile and Stereo Bluetooth into the phone.

Besides, Pantech Duo also comes with AT&T Xpress Mail push e-mail service, supporting most popular POP3/IMAP personal e-mail services, instant messaging capabilities and the ability to send and receive multimedia messages with color videos and photos. User can make voice calls while sending e-mail or browsing the web through UMTS/HSDPA technology.

Finally, the Windows Mobile 6 gives a computer feel to the Pantech Duo that allows the owner to view PowerPoint presentations, edit Microsoft word and Excel documents. Moreover, view e-mail messages in the original HTML format with live links to Web sites and Microsoft Office SharePoint sites, so that text and images are displayed in a similar way as on a Windows PC.

Microsoft’s Direct Push Technology allows up-to-date e-mail delivery and automatic synchronization of Outlook calendars, tasks and contacts through Microsoft Exchange Server. The phone also supports System Center Mobile Device Manager, the comprehensive, enterprise-grade mobile management security and access server at around the time Mobile Device Manager.
