Apparently, Magellan has announced its new GPS navigation device, dubbed the RoadMate 1200.

Listed are the features of the Magellan RoadMate 1200 GPS system:

  • A 3.5-inch anti-glare touchscreen
  • Apparently uses Centrality Atlas II GPS receiver as opposed to SiRF Star III.
  • Maps of the US, Hawaii and Puerto Rico
  • 1.3 million points of interest
  • The maps are also installed into the 1GB SD memory card.

    Besides, the other features include voice guidance for users to keep their hands on the steering wheel, QuickSpell helps the driver to eliminate letters that are not found in its memory while typing an addresses.

    The SmartDetour spec enables the owner to get away from the traffic. The Magellan RoadMate 1200 GPS device has the capability to work for 3 hours, after a full charge.

    If rumors are to be believed, the Magellan RoadMate 1200 carries a retail price of $200 (approx. Rs. 10,000).
