BlackBerry 8800 Smartphone from RIM On March 21, the highly anticipated BlackBerry 8800 debuted in India thanks to Research in Motion (RIM). At just 14mm thick, this phone is without doubt the thinnest BlackBerry till date. RIM’s user-friendly trackball navigation system and a tactile full QWERTY keyboard only make the smartphone simple to handle.

The Blackberry 8800 smartphone comes with built-in GPS and top notch performance and integrated support for voice and data applications, such as phone, text messaging, email, web browser, organizer and multimedia.

Further, the BlackBerry 8800 smartphone has an ultra-thick, high capacity battery that extends the uncompromising battery life that all BB smartphone are known for. This smartphone has support for GSM/GPRS and EDGE-enabled applications.

Other features of the BlackBerry 8800 smartphone include noise cancellation, Speaker Independent Voice Recognition for Voice Activated Dialling (VAD), intuitive call management functions such as smart dialing, conference calling, speed dialing and call forwarding. This phone also features dedicated “send”, “end” and “mute” keys.

This smartphone has a large ultra-bright, high resolution 320 x 240 landscape display, which makes for easy viewing of just about anything stored on your phone. In addition, the built-in light sensing technology automatically adjusts the screen, keyboard and trackball brightness of the BlackBerry 8800 smartphone, for optimized visibility in a variety of lighting environments
