Skype enters Mobile Phone Arena

Skype logo E-bay owned Skype, an internet telephony provider, has planned to launch its mobile device, which has been developed in collaboration with 3 Mobile, an international wireless carrier.

3 Mobile is based in Hong Kong and is a venture company of Hutchison Whampoa Ltd.

Apparently, Skype will name the upcoming phone “the White Phone”. It would be capable to allowing fast web browsing.

It is said that the mobile phone is developed by iSkoot software that allows the user to call Skype friends and regular phone contacts anywhere in the world by just pressing a big button above the keypad. In addition, the phone calls made by Skype-to-Skype are free of cost.

There’s no word yet on cost or availability of the Skype mobile phone. However, the handset is slated for release in the UK, Italy, Hong Kong and Australia in October-end.
