NTT DoCoMo, Inc. a leading mobile communications company, has announced to launch its innovative child friendly mobile phone. The new FOMA F801i is loaded with special features for the safety and convenience of children.

Keeping children’s security in mind, the phone includes an alarm feature. Children can activate the FOMA F801i’s 100-decibel alarm that also emits a bright light. This bright light also helps to alert surrounding people in case of emergency. Moreover, FOMA F801i automatically notifies loved ones with the handset’s current location when the alarm is activated.

Also, the FOMA F801i allows computer-generated phone calls up to three registered numbers. Children can send messages to registered individuals who subscribe to the i-mode location service called imadoco search with a single button on the side of the phone.

Presetting also enables to turn the handset on back automatically (in five minutes), if it is switched off.

Eliminating the chances of theft and loss of the phone, NTT DoCoMo has made the FOMA F801i phone equipped with amulet-style remote controller. This wearable can be used to make a misplaced phone beep if within a range of about 10 meters. And if user moves farther from this range, the handset goes automatically lock. And if the FOMA F801i remains out of the amulet’s range for more than five minutes, a message will be sent to a registered DoCoMo phone.

The FOMA F801i is ergonomically designed considering the small hands of children. The phone is waterproof and also features round speaker grille enclosed by a ring-shape LED.

NTT DoCoMo’s FOMA F801i will be available in the Japanese market from December 20.
