Apple iPhone Sued for Breaking California Law

Apple iPhone lawsuit After a lady sued Apple, Timothy Smith filed a suit alleging that Apple has violated the antitrust law by requiring the iPhone to be used with only AT&T. According to the California lawsuit, Apple has breached the law by making it obligatory for owners to only use AT&T network with the iPhone.

The suit has also asked the court for an injunction against Apple to keep the company from selling the iPhone with any other service restriction. It also requested to keep Apple from denying warranty coverage for anyone who has unlocked their iPhones.

The suit filed against Apple also stated that all other Californian residents, who agree to the suit, can join in on the action against Apple.

Damian Fernandez, Smith’s attorney believes that there will be over a quarter of a million iPhone users with the similar opinion who want to contribute in the protest, along with several thousand of them that have bricks after having unlocked the devices with the currently available software He also claims in the suit that “Apple’s unlawful trust with AT&T substantially lessens competition and tends to create a monopoly in trade and commerce throughout the entire United States.”

In addition, the lawsuit has also asked Apple to pay unspecified cash damages.
