T-Mobile to Sell Locked iPhones, announces German Court

T-Mobile iPhone locked The German Court has finally issued an order that T-Mobile, Deutsche Telekom’s unit, can sell locked iPhones on an exclusive contract. The court dismissed an earlier injunction that was filed by Vodafone that led to a brief period of two weeks during which the Apple iPhone was sold unlocked.

Sadly, during the injunction time, unlocked iPhones were offered by T-Mobile for 999 EUR, which is three times more than locked iPhones which are priced at 399 EUR.

As per the court’s order, iPhone owners in Germany are free to unlock their phones after they complete the two-year contract.

Thus, the SIM lock will prevent the iPhone users from switching to any other operator’s network.

On 9th November, Germany experienced 10,000 locked iPhone sales on the first day through T-Mobile. The largest mobile phone service provider in Germany, informed the iPhone owners who bought the locked version that they can unlock their SIM card but for extra charge.
