Three months back, Nokia’s battery explosion scared most phone users in India. Luckily no one was injured badly in the incident. The news just cooled down recently and there was a hoax that a Korean man got killed by a mobile phone explosion. However, this news finally proved to be wrong.
Now, New Zealand resident, Norman Sievewright has experienced his Nokia phone on fire, while it was kept for charging.
Norman was asleep and suddenly he woke up in the middle of the night to a loud band when his Nokia mobile phone battery exploded and burst into flames on the carpet. He expressed, “It was very scary…especially the fumes and stuff. The back has been blown off the phone.
Nokia has asked him to send the phone to investigate on the fault. However, the company declined to comment until the exact cause of fire is known.
There is no mention about the model number of the Nokia handset that Norman was using.
