Griffin StompBox

Griffin Technology recently unleashed its StompBox foot-pedal for guitarists, providing them a much easier way to personify their music without taking their hands off the instrument. The device is said to be a programmable multi-functional foot controller that enables virtual guitar effects.

Created to work in collaboration with the iShread Live app, the combination of the software and hardware claims to provide users a convenient method to switch between effects using their feet. Additionally, the StompBox is said to possess functions such as a four button foot controller, assignable foot-activated switches in which users can specify a particular effect for each button and 1/4-inch jack for input of pedals like volume or wah-wah

With the Griffin GuitarConnect cable, users can attach their instruments, headphones and the iOS device simultaneously. Also, making the device a stage worthy effects rig, the foot switches can be configured using the iShread Live app to control different effects.

Besides its use with instruments, the StompBox controls can also be programmed to work with the Griffin Qscript, a teleprompter app. The software enables certain presentation functions and text scrolling using one foot. The device is said to be compatible with any instrument that features a 1/4-inch jack like a guitar, bass guitar, electric violin and keyboard.

The Griffin Technology StompBox is available at Apple Retail stores for a price of $99.99 (approx. Rs. 4,423). Also, users can download compatible applications like the iShred Live for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch for free and the Qscript app for iPad priced at $7.99 (approx. Rs. 353) from the App Store.
