Now Women can Defend themselves with Mobile-like-Gadget

Especially in BPOs and ITEs, danger on woman has increased. Woman can now protect themselves with Lone Worker, a hand-held mobile-like gadget.

Mobile-like-Gadget Chip maker SiRF Technologies has come up with this new device to send distress messages to police, offices and any other number along with their location immediately. This communication device comes with built-in Global Positioning System (GPS).

The Managing Director of SiRF, Ashutosh Pande, said “The product saves women in distress through the pressing of an SOS button.”

The gadget is pre-programmed to dial four numbers which can be selected by the employer or the individual. Integrated SOS button can call an emergency response number to a government agency or the organization’s security / emergency contact number. Interestingly, SOS call will go through even if there is no SIM Card.

The device will start sending co-ordinates across the cellular network to the pre-designed emergency number after pressing the button.

Ashutosh Pande adds, the company believes in convergence to future needs.

SiRF has also designed chips for other products like Nuvi Navigator to trace destinations anywhere in the world. With Lone Worker, the company has also developed Child Locator to help children and find their location with a unique product to aid senior citizens with an SOS button.

To help navigate the transport sector, another GPS product has been developed, which can also help defence and security agencies.
