Acer Aspire S7 Ultrabook series unveiled

Acer Aspire S7 Ultrabooks 01

The ongoing Computex Taipei has witnessed the debut of the Acer Aspire S7 Ultrabook series along with the Iconia tablets. Running the latest Windows 8 platform, the newest variants claim to be the thinnest and smallest devices in their category.

The Aspire S7 series devices will be made available in screen configurations of 13.3 and 11.6 inches. While it’s the former that is believed to be the thinnest of the lot, the latter is said to be the smallest Ultrabook in the market. Based on the Windows 8 platform from Microsoft, they are fitted with multi-touch displays for an intuitive experience. The Acer notebooks come enclosed in a sleek aluminum metallic unibody form factor each. Additionally, the 13.3-inch model flaunts a glossy look, complete with a sculpted glass cover.

Although these Ultrabooks appear delicate in their sleek enclosures, they are durable and should be apt for everyday use. And just so users remain productive and at the same time entertained throughout the day, the larger version coughs up the juice for uninterrupted computing of close to 12 hours and the smaller of the two offers a power life of about 9 hours at a stretch.

The efficient cooling of the notebooks and thermal comfort are taken care of by the Acer Twin Air cooling system, deployed in each of the Aspire S7 Ultrabooks. Besides the touchscreen, they have been outfitted with light-sensing keyboards, which intuitively adjust backlight brightness by detecting the ambient lighting conditions. So far, this is all that we know about the devices and there is no word on what they pack inside their slim designs.

The Acer Aspire S7 Ultrabook series price and release date information has not been given a mention.
