New Razer Blade gets slimmer, packs in new i7 CPU and Nvidia graphics

The new Razer Blade gaming laptop is said to push performance a step further by including one of the latest Core i7 processors and an Nvidia GPU whilst maintaining a slim profile. The device is powered by a 3rd generation Intel CPU coupled with GeForce GTX 660M graphics for an enhanced gaming experience.

This beefed up version brings along the thermal technology seen in the earlier variant. It measures just about 0.88 inches in thickness that’s said to be less than half the width of regular gaming laptops with a similar set of specifications. The device weighs roughly 7 pounds which is yet again another aspect contributing to its sleek build. The latest Razer Blade laptop packs in 8GB of DDR3 RAM, a 500GB HDD, 64GB SATA3 SSD with the Nvelo Dataplex software and 2GB of dedicated GDDR5 video memory.

“The all-new Razer Blade is built to defy all conventions; it is has extreme levels of performance and yet amazingly thin,” explained Min-Liang Tan, Razer Chief Executive Officer. “The Blade features the next generation of Intel quad core processors combined with powerful Nvidia GTX class graphics chips and the fastest RAM available, resulting in a machine that is insanely powerful.”

One of the main highlights of this laptop is the 17.3-inch FHD LED backlit multi-touch display that comes with the Switchblade UI. This feature provides access a host of applications which are built specifically for gaming. With the help of this attribute, users will be able to browse the internet for online videos and in-game guides and even connect to social networking websites. A 60Wh battery juices up all the above mentioned components.

The Razer Blade price and release date stand at $2,499.99 (approx. Rs. 1,38,640) and September, respectively. Pre-orders for the device are already on a roll and the company plans on shipping it across North America by the end of September.
