The Acer C7 Chromebook, which carries a price tag of under $200, is now in stock at e-retailers like NewEgg, TigerDirect and Staples in the US. This ‘speedy, simple and secure’ laptop was already available through Google Play as well as Best Buy online and retail stores.
The latest Chromebook was first unveiled in November and is said to be capable of delivering hassle-free internet connectivity. Aimed at families and students, it is apt for casual online computing and has been deployed with security attributes for keeping malware and viruses at bay. As the name suggests, it runs Google Chrome and allows downloading apps through the Chrome Web Store.
Featuring built-in dual band Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, the device can be used to access the web wirelessly, if there’s an open hotspot. It is said to offer fast boot ups and quickly resumes from sleep. The netbook weighs approximately 3.05 pounds, measures merely an inch in thickness and is the proud owner of a 1366 x 768p 11.6-inch display as well as a full sized keyboard.
