Keeping its promise, the new Samsung Chromebook is here and those who are eagerly waiting to purchase the laptop can pick it up via Google Play. By now, followers might be aware of the fact that this device runs the Chrome OS based on the ARM platform and has a 1.7GHz Exynos 5 dual core processor and 2GB of RAM powering its operations.

Customers can take advantage of Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n for Internet surfing and downloading content, while there is a 16GB HDD and an additional 100GB of Google Drive Cloud storage for hoarding purposes. Two USB ports, an HDMI socket and a 3-in-1 multi card slot are lined up on the chassis, while the laptop even offers a set of stereo speakers for music playback. There’s a built-in mic and a 0.3MP webcam that lets users snap pictures and conduct video calls while on the move.

The notebook flaunts an 11.6-inch LED screen that renders visuals in a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. It comes with a 74-button keyboard in addition to a scroll scope flat type touchpad that makes it easy to navigate. Dipped in silver, this laptop weighs just about 2.43 pounds and measures 0.69 inches in thickness. Lastly, it has a 2-cell 4080mAh Li-poly battery that is capable of offering up to 6.3 hours of continuous usage on a single charge.

As Android Police points out, the new Samsung Chromebook is the first non-Android device to go up for sale on Google Play, and buyers can pick it up at a price of $249 (approx. Rs. 13,400).
