Sony Vaio line brushed up with new CPU options and more for winter season

Sony Vaio E-Series Fall

It is commonplace to see cozy jackets and suede boots whipping the winter fashion line-up into shape. Runway trends don’t just seem to stop at clothes and accessories with the tech world too gearing up for the season. At least Sony’s updated Vaio models suggest so. The fall update for this family includes new options for the Vaio EB/EA/AC, F and L series laptops.

The Vaio E series last week grabbed attention as they spruced up the laptop terrain in a number of color options, screen sizes and accessories. The requested and popular purple model option from this portfolio formally called ‘Passion Purple’ is said to have quite a fan following on Facebook too. Now the Vaio EB/EA/EC series with its new CPU options turns around heads. The just-released Intel CPUs namely Ci5-580 and Ci5-460M find their place in these pre-built and customized models and should entice users who keep performance high up on their list.

Those on the prowl for a more value for money option can head for the new Pentium processor option. With the EC model already sporting a 1GB graphics card option, the feature is newly added to the EA and EB models. In addition to this, the EB/EC models for the very first time now also get full HD display options. The excitement extends to the company proffering a free full HD upgrade on all new EB and EC laptops that are customized. This is while supplies last with the offer ending on October 9, 2010.

The L series witnesses the return of the Blu-ray disc reader/writer. The all new Vaio L AIO touchscreen computer packs in a Blu-ray option accompanied by a humungous 2TB hard drive for storage. Quad Core processing, a TV tuner and other options that should get more than the average laptop lover yearning for more is what rounds off the model.

The Vaio F series too grabs the opportunity by packing in a new graphics card, the Nvidia GeForce GT 425M graphics card with 1GB of video RAM to be precise. It’s an upscale from the 330M predecessor which should without a doubt work in favor of gaming. The new F line-up further includes a USB 3.0 port for lag-free file transfers.

The Sony blog goes on to share that enthusiasts can expect another Signature Collection to drop in next month. They’ll have to wait and watch though to see if the upcoming season’s line will include uber models or those having a distinct tailoring.
