Toshiba fits the M645 laptop in the Satellite series

A few days back we reported about Toshiba having upgraded its Satellite line of laptops by including four new variants to the L-series. Along with the A665, the company has now revealed plans to introduce the M645 which has been fitted with a 14” HD screen for offering an HD visual content.

The display is integrated with the TruBrite technology with LED backlighting. The exterior of the notebook has been completed with Fusion X2 finish and the designed with a tough surface covering. Typing has been made easier and comfortable with the raised-tile keyboard and multi-touch touchpad.

“NVIDIA Optimus technology solves a key issue for consumers looking for high-performance laptops the tradeoff between great graphics performance and battery life,” cited Rene Hass, GM, notebook products, NVIDIA. “Now they can have both in a system that automatically directs the workload to the most efficient processor. This is switchable graphics done right.”

The laptop has been attributed with the company’s Sleep-and-Music functionality that plays music by connecting an MP3 player into the Mic jack even the device is powered down. The in-built DVD player integrates the Resolution+ technology that enhances the sharpness and the picture quality displaying it in a HD output.

Users are offered a choice of Intel’s Core i3, Core i5, Core i7 and the AMD Phenom II Quad Core processors to select from. They have been provided with a DDR3 memory and an optional HDD offering a speed of 7200RPM. Users can avail of enhanced visual capabilities in select models which are backed by the Nvidia GeForce 310M and GeForce GT330M graphics processors. These include the Nvidia Optimus technology which increases the battery life of the devices.

The M645 notebook offers entertainment aficionados with Harman/Kardon stereo speakers for advanced aural output. The built-in Dolby Advanced Audio technology exposes listeners to a high quality aural experience that can be enjoyed through any headsets. The company plans to incorporate Gigabit Ethernet, slot-loading DVD drives, Intel’s wireless display and WiMAX in select models.

Toshiba’s Satellite A665 and M645 notebooks are said to have already hit markets starting yesterday. The M645 will cost around $729.99 (approx. Rs. 33,580) and will be available through e-tailers or retailers and also on Toshiba’s online portal.
