The CeBIT computer expo held in Hannover recently was witness to loads of innovative products and devices fashioned by many noteworthy companies. The event also saw Acer taking this opportunity to unveil a heap of new notebooks, desktops and many other offerings. The company adds two new products to its TravelMate series namely the TravelMate 7740 and 5740 notebooks.
These new inclusions bring to the line an enhanced performance and better ergonomics aimed at professional business users who are on the lookout for seamless connectivity, better productivity and multitasking efficiency. The notebooks house the latest Intel Core i5 or i3 processors family which caters to the customers’ every need while extending the battery life. They also boast of up to 8GB of advanced DDR3 memory as well as Mobile Intel HM55 Express Chipset for HD video and audio playback and 3D graphic performance. The TravelMate series can be seen endowed with either built-in 3D graphics or ATI Radeon HD5470 or HD5670 graphic solutions.
The new Acer TravelMate 7740 and 5740 notebooks are available in two formats namely 44cm and 39.5cm respectively and sport Acer CineCrystal LED backlit panel which helps support multi-window viewing through Acer GridVista. The 16:9 aspect ratio allows users to view more information at once as well as seamlessly display e-mails, charts and spreadsheets on the native widescreen resolution. The two offerings exuberate of a profession appearance while bringing forth an enhanced performance while being highly portable in nature. The 5740 and 7740 weigh 2.5kg and 3.3kg respectively and include up to 5 hours battery life all packed in a slim form factor.
The Acer products offer hard disk capacity of up to 640GB, DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive and a built-in multi-in-1 card reader. The laptops provide customers with loads of connectivity options such as Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi network connection supporting Acer SignalUp with Nplify wireless technology. The notebooks are also embedded with the Acer Video Conference which includes Acer CrystalEye 1.3MP webcam, integrated microphone and the Acer Video Conference Manager software.
The Acer TravelMate 7740 and 5740 series notebooks are backed with a standard 1 year Carry In warranty which can be prolonged to 3 years’ cover with the Acer Advantage service. No word yet on the official price or availability.
