Users now have portable netbooks that are a combination of the beauty of nature, great looks and innovative technology. Asus announced the launch of their Eee PC series namely Eee PC 1008HA, Eee PC 1005HA and Eee PC 1101HA. They are claimed to be extremely stylish and have been designed to cater to the needs of young adults, professionals and travelers.
The Eee PC Seashell series have a 2.5-inch SATA II 160GB hard disk drive with a 10GB of online Eee Storage facilities. With intelligent energy management system and a multi-touch track-pad, they encompass a keyboard that’s ergonomically designed. They boast of the Super Hybrid Engine that monitors programs in use and adjusts the power supply to provide an efficient power saving solution.

The Eee PC Seashell series incorporate a host of other attributes. Their designs are inspired by a seashell. They have a stylish, glossy body created through the In-Mold Roller technology which protects the devices from scratches. The lid is laced with grainy reflective particles which glisten in the light. They have a 10-inch LED backlit WSVGA glare-type display. Typing on-the-move has now become a real thrill with the ergonomically designed keyboard.
These laptops weigh 1.1kg and measure just 1-inch in depth making them the perfect runabout internet device. They also have a 6 hour battery life. Their Super Hybrid Engine monitors the programs being used and deploys the right amount of power that’s needed, thus conserving power and making the machines efficient. The multi-touch track-pad allows users to explore their pictures. Users can zoom in and out of pictures and also move up and down pages by sliding along the touch-pad.
The Eee PC 1008HA, 1005HA and the 1101HA incorporate 10.1â€LED-backlit WSVGA screens of 1024×600 pixels with Color-Shine. They are based on a Windows XP Home operating system with an Intel Atom processor. They sport a 1GB SO-DIMM RAM and a 160GB 2.5†SATA II 5400RPM hard disk plus 10GB Eee storage. They sport 802.11b/g/n @2.4GHz wireless LAN and Bluetooth 2.1 and EDR support. They incorporate a 3 cell Li-polymer battery that is slim and eco-friendly and runs for 6 hours. With a 1.3MP camera, they also include hi-definition audio codec, Dolby stereo speakers and a built-in digital array mic. These devices have a 1 x mini VGA connector, 2 x USB2.0, 1 x LAN RJ-45, 2 x audio jack and a card reader. They are 262mm x 178mm x 18~25.7mm and are available in white and black color.
The Eee PC 1005HA and the 1101HA boast of a 6 cell battery that is slimmer and eco-friendly and runs for 10.5 hours. The devices have 1 x mini VGA connector, 3 x USB2.0, 1 x LAN RJ-45, 2 x audio jack and a card reader.
The price of the ASUS Eee PC Seashell series has not yet been revealed.
