Lenovo has started shipping its IdeaPad S12 notebook PC in the US, reports Electronista. This 12-inch notebook PC comes with a 1280 x 800 resolution display along with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU and an HDMI port.
Later this summer, the notebook PC will also offer NVIDIA’s Ion chipset. Thus, the notebook will be able to provide 1080p HD video and 3D video processing capabilities.
The currently shipping versions of the S12 notebook PCs feature an integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics processor. Moreover, it also bundles up full-size keyboards and six-cell lithium ion battery. The integrated 160GB hard drive is preloaded with Windows XP OS. It also offers Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth and webcam.
Dressed in white or black, the IdeaPad S12 will be available in the US at a starting price of $499 (approx. Rs.24,233). The Nvidia Ion option is said to arrive later this summer. However, the exact date of its arrival is not yet disclosed. The price of the notebook PC along with the Nvidia Ion chipset is also yet to be announced.
