Acer launches its latest light-weight laptops known as the Aspire Timeline series. Three formats are introduced in this series namely 13.3, 14 and 15.6 inches.
The Acer Aspire Timeline series laptops measure 24mm thick and rises 5mm high. The notebooks sport a brushed aluminum cover with an Acer logo made of mirrored metal. The 13.3 inch and 15.6 inch Aspire models weigh just 1.6kg and 2.4kgs respectively. This makes the laptops portable and easy to carry.
The Timeline series notebooks are integrated with the newest Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Ultra Low Voltage with a choice of dedicated or shared VGA. For easy multitasking, the laptops include a DDR3 system memory. To store loads of information, there is an HDD of up to 500 GB capacity and SSD of up to 64 GB capacity.
The highlight of the Aspire Timeline Series is extending the battery life without making the laptops heavier. This is possible as the battery redesigns the way power is used. This results in more than 8 hours of usage time on a single charge. The notebooks also come equipped with Acer Smart Power key which has power saving abilities. This key reduces power consumption and extends battery life with its advanced settings.
The Acer Power Smart adapter found in the Timeline series saves 1,752 watt per year. This amounts to the same as a 15 watt bulb being lit for 116 days. When the Power Smart adapter senses that the battery is fully charged, it automatically shifts to adaptive charging mode. This mode ceases to consume energy and hence keeps the battery in top shape.
To eliminate heat being emitted from these laptops, Intel and Laminar Wall Jet have fashioned a cooling technology for turbine blades. With louvers in the inlet vents, cool air flows along the bottom side of the notebook. This circulates the fresh air wherever the skins are needed to be cooled.
Located on top of the Timeline series laptops are touch-sensitive hot keys which allows access to Backup, Wi-Fi and the Power Smart Key. For the 14 and 15.6 inch notebooks, the ODD eject button is conveniently located on top of the laptops. The Acer Aspire Timeline Series of laptops includes a glossy FineTip keyboard with large keys which enable users to type comfortably.
Customers can navigate through all their files and pictures by running their fingers on the Timeline touchpad in a clockwise and anti-clock wise direction. To browse through media albums, PDF documents and web pages, consumers can simply slide their fingers horizontally across the touchpad. With a pinch motion, zooming in or out can be easily done. The touchpad can also be locked and sporting a step design, the touchpad button can easily be located.
The Aspire Timeline Series by Acer incorporates an Acer CineCrystal LED backlit display which allows users to view texts and images even in environments with minimum light. The display screen also has 16:9 aspect ratio, high brightness and a 1366×768 HD resolution. To further enhance the entertainment experience, Dolby Sound Room is integrated into the Timeline notebooks. When paired with any speaker or headphones, this feature ensures great surround sound experience.
While on the move, users can keep in touch with friends and family with various features offered by the Acer Aspire Timeline series. There is a built-in Wi-Fi/WiMAX function with Acer SignalUp which gives full connectivity to anyone, anywhere. The Acer Crystal Eye webcam with enhanced Acer PrimaLite technology is incorporated into the laptops. With this enabled, customers can conduct video conferencing and video chat wherever they are. The webcam can be viewed with sharp clarity even in poor lit surroundings. A choice of embedded 3G modules can be also be utilized.
The price and availability of Acer Aspire Timeline series is not known.
