Sony goes pink for a noble cause

Sony Pink Edition

Many companies have joined the league to support the Breast Cancer Awareness program. The assortment of pink products being offered this month will vouch for it. Earlier Samsung painted its Samsung Star S5230 in pink to support the Think Pink campaign. And now Sony too joins this league by painting its Vaio W and Pocket reader in two unique shades of pink.

According to Engadget, Sony has decided to support the Breast Cancer Awareness month by releasing two new bundles. The first bundle will include a 10.5-inch Vaio W in a unique Berry pink color. This special netbook also packs in a matching Berry Pink sleeve and a mouse. The Vaio W netbook is driven by Intel’s Atom N280 processor. The 1GB RAM and 160GB hard drive are said to complement the processor to deliver improved performance.

The components of the second bundle include a Pocket Reader that flaunts a lovely Rose Pink color. This special edition reader will be offered with a gold clutch case and download codes for four e-books.

Sony has committed to donate $1,10,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This money will be donated from the sales for the month of October for these bundles. The special edition Sony Viao W netbook will retail for $499 (approx. Rs. 23,767) while the Pocket reader will be priced at $199 (approx. Rs. 9,480).
