Targeted at mobile professionals, Toshiba unveiled its latest ultra-portable Portege A600 laptop in the American market.
Weighing 3.2 pounds and powered by Intel Centrino 2 processor technology, the 1.18-inch thick notebook offers a 12.1-inch LED backlit display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.
It also comes with Toshiba’s fourth-generation EasyGuard Technology with PC Health Monitor and an integrated optical drive.
According to Carl Pinto, vice president, product development and marketing, Digital Products Division, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc, “Toshiba continues to assert its expertise in the ultraportable market place by today’s release of the mainstream Portégé A600. This new laptop PC is an incredible new design that is specifically engineered by Toshiba to meet the needs of mobile professionals and is available at an extremely attractive price.â€
The ENERGY STAR 4.0 compliant Portégé A600 also incorporates components such as HDD Protection, a spill-resistant keyboard, fingerprint reader and Trusted Platform Module (TPM).
Other features of the laptop include web camera, integrated Optical drive, USB Sleep-and-Charge/eSATA Combo Port, GMA 4500 MHD integrated graphics, 3GB of DDR2 memory, a 160GB hard drive and built-in DVD burner.
Furthermore, it also features two USB ports, 802.11a/g/n wireless, Bluetooth, and Gigabit Ethernet LAN connection along with “Sleep and Charge†functionality, an ExpressCard slot, SD Card reader, VGA output and an ability to deliver around 7.5 hours of battery life.
The Toshiba Portégé A600 ultra-portable laptop comes for a starting price of $1,399 (approx. Rs. 68,746).
