Frontier FRLN, an Ultra-light and Ultra-rugged Notebook Unveiled

Japan-based Frontier has unveiled its new notebook PC, dubbed FRLN, claiming it to be super-light and super-touch. Weighing just 2.5 pounds, the laptop has the ability to resist a drop from 2.5 feet and sustain 265 pounds of pressure.

Based on the 800MHz Intel processor , FRNL features 1GB of RAM, 12-inch LED backlit screen, a WXGA (1,280 x 800) panel, 80GB hard drive, 802.11a/b/g WiFi, 4-in-1 multicard reader, integrated graphics and a built-in 1-watt speaker.

Additionally, the Frontier FRNL notebook also sports:

  • An integrated microphone
  • A pair of USB 2.0 ports
  • Ethernet
  • A 56k modem
  • VGA out
  • A biometric scanner
  • The company boasts that the keyboard of the Frontier FRNL is water-resistant that guards against rain and spills. The laptop can work continuously for four hours on a single charge, whereas the extended battery runs for up to 8.5 hours.

    Expected to start shipping by March-end in Japan, the Frontier FRNL notebook will retail for around $1,291 (approx. Rs. 51,640).
