Targeted at mobile professionals, social media enthusiasts and fashion-forward women, HP has introduced three new mini 1000 netbooks which include HP Mini 1000, HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam Edition and HP Mini 1000 with MIE.

Expanding the HP Mini family, all three mini 1000 netbooks weigh over 2 pounds and are less than 1-inch thick. Based on 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processors, these sleek and ultra-portable companion PCs pack in a keyboard which is 92 percent the size of a conventional notebook keyboard, BrightView widescreen Infinity display with a resolution of 1,024 x 600 pixels, flush glass and LED backlight.

Some of the other common features of the HP Mini 1000 line of netbooks PCs are built-in webcam, microphone and support for HP Mini Mobile Drive that offers 2 GB, 4 GB or 8 GB of additional storage.

“Staying connected to your world – however you define it – is increasingly important to people on the go. That’s why HP is excited to address this new high-growth market with a portfolio of head-turning mini companion PCs that are fun and easy to use,” mentioned Ted Clark, senior vice president and general manager, Notebook Global Business Unit, Personal Systems Group, HP.

Distinctively, the three HP netbooks features are as follows:

Unblemished in a piano-black finish with HP Imprint swirl designed, the HP Mini 1000 runs on Windows XP Home and comes installed with an Ethernet jack, two USB ports, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless capabilities. The netbooks comes in two difference screen sizes such as 8.9-inch or 10.2-inch.

Next is the HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam Edition that shines in energetic red and possesses a peony-flower inspired design. The 10.2-inch netbooks works on Windows XP Home edition and is said to be an ideal computing device to surf internet and access other critical files and PC applications. Feature wise, it comes with an Ethernet jack, two USB ports, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless capabilities.

Last but not the least, the HP Mini 1000 with MIE (Mobile Internet Experience) includes instant messaging, email and Skype for online video chat. Compatible with MIE dashboard, the notebook works on the Linux operating system and features an Ethernet jack, two USB ports, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless capabilities.

The 3G versions of the HP Mini 1000 line are scheduled to be available in December.

Priced at $399 (approx. Rs. 19,580), the HP Mini 1000 netbook PC is currently available in the US. While the HP Mini 1000 Vivienne Tam Edition is slated to hit the US market by mid-December for a suggested price of $699 (approx. Rs. 34,300), the HP Mini 1000 with MIE is expected to reach the US market in January for $379 (approx. Rs. 18,600).
