Sweden Company Medison has cut down the cost of their Linux-powered laptop called the Medison Celebrity, which claims to be the world’s most affordable notebook PC.
Medison Celebrity features a 14-inch widescreen display with 1280-by-768 pixel resolution, Intel Celeron M Processor 370 at 1.5 GHz, a 256MB DDR2 memory expandable up to 1GB, a 40GB hard drive, and a Combo optical drive.
Furthermore, the cheapest notebook also comes with an integrated VIA PN800 graphics, a 5.1-channel sound system, as well as Ethernet LAN and 802.11g wireless. It also offers a PCMCIA card slot, three USB 2.0 ports, and a VGA output.
The $150 laptop carries enough space to come equipped with an optimized Linux operating system along with pre-installed office and multimedia applications. It delivers six-cell battery and weighs around 4.85lbs.
The sources are not ready to disclose the exact figures of laptop to be sold under this price tag. Now, let’s hope that Medison Celebrity is not available in limited edition.
The standard featured Medison Celebrity will start shipping in US and Europe within 4-6 weeks time.
