Sharp Japan Aquos DX2 Series HDTVs with Blu-ray

Sharp Aquos DX2 Series HDTVs The number of devices offering compatibility with Blu-ray players is increasing rapidly. At the same time DVDs and VCDs are swiftly moving out of the picture. Sharp Japan has come up its new Aquos DX2 series HDTVs that come integrated with a Blu-ray player.

The DX2-series is available in size ranging from 26-inches to 52-inches. It includes two HD-Ready sets in the form of the 26-inch LC-26DX2 and the 32-inch LC-32DX2. Along with this, the series also includes three full HD models called the 40-inch LC-40DX2, the 46-inch LC-46DX2 and the 52-inch LC-52DX2.

The HD-Ready models boast of a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and a contrast ratio of 7,000:1. These HDTVs also bundle up two HDMI ports. The full-HD models incorporate a resolution of 1920 x 1080 along with a contrast ratio of 15000:1. While three HDMI ports assist in connecting these TVs to the source.

The HDTVs incorporate a slot on the right side where users can load the Blu-ray disk. These displays also provide support for BD-Live and IPTV. The displays also incorporate an Ethernet connection.

All the five sizes of these HDTVs will hit the Japanese market on September 10. Sharp has refrained from disclosing the pricing details till the date of the launch. We haven’t heard any word about the release outside Japan as yet. But we surely hope that Sharp won’t limit the availability to Japan for long.
