Offering a deeper and more realistic experience in 3D viewing are the freshly unveiled Nvidia 3D Vision 2 glasses. Along with these glasses, the new Nvidia 3D LightBoost technology and the Asus VG278H full HD monitor were also introduced.

The Nvidia 3D glasses promise to deliver an immersive experience for 3D games, movies and photos. Specially crafted for gamers and 3D enthusiasts, this sleek new pair of glasses feature lenses that are twenty percent larger than their predecessor. It reportedly provides a wider viewing angle and enhanced external light blocking. Built from soft composite materials, the video gear offer a comfortable fit to users when worn with gaming headphones.

Phil Eisler, general manager of 3D Vision at Nvidia stated, “Gorgeous, bright, crystal-clear 3D worlds are created by Nvidia’s 3D Vision 2 glasses with 3D LightBoost monitors and notebooks. Nvidia’s engineering team has made incredible enhancements in 3D on PCs, creating a breathtaking gaming experience that’s better than the best Hollywood 3D movie.”

The Nvidia 3D LightBoost display technology is said to enhance 3D images with defined clarity and brightness. The first desktop display to feature this technology is the 27-inch LED full HD monitor, the Asus VG278H. Incorporated with a resolution 1920 x 1080p, the monitor possesses a 3D HDMI 1.4 and a dual-link DVI input for full HD 1080p 3D gaming. It packs in the Trace-Free II technology that provides 120Hz refresh rates and 2ms response times.

The Nvidia 3D Vision 2 glasses, priced at $149 (approx. Rs. 7,360), are accompanied by a wireless USB IR emitter and will be available in a compact kit from retailers worldwide. The Asus VG278H monitor comes with the 3D Vision 2 glasses and is tagged at $699 (approx. Rs. 34,300). Both the devices will start retailing by the end of this month.
