The latest iPad was not the only device that made its loud debut at the event held at San Francisco on March 7, considering that the new Apple TV claimed its fair share of limelight too. The box is said to be capable of rendering HD visuals in full 1080p resolution along with offering access to a number of TV shows and movies via iTunes Store as well as applications like Netflix, Vimeo and more.

The iTunes Store stocks up on over 90,000 episodes and more than 15,000 movies, while the gadget also lets users stream videos and live sports from various channels. It is compatible with iCloud that facilitates sharing content on all Apple devices including the iPhone, iPad and Mac, ensuring instant access to digital data on the move.

“People are going to love streaming movies and TV shows in 1080p with the new Apple TV, and photos look beautiful displayed at the maximum resolution of your TV. Apple TV is easier than ever to use with its new icon-based interface and the ability to access your purchased movies, TV shows and music right from iCloud,” stated Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

Moreover, the Apple TV works with AirPlay that assists users with synching their iPad, iPod and iPhone with an HDTV. Its AirPlay Mirroring feature can be utilized for displaying the mobile device’s content on a big screen. The Remote app, available at the Apple App Store, helps in wirelessly controlling the Apple TV via the iOS devices.

The new Apple TV price and availability details have been chalked out. It carries a price tag that reads $99 (approx. Rs. 4,935) and will be up for sale via Apple retail and online stores and other authorized resellers. The Remote app can be downloaded for free through iTunes.
