Today, TiVo introduced the TiVo HD, the company’s first HD-capable DVR. The newly launched device allows recording and playback of HDTV that shows up to 1080i.
Moreover, it features the dual CableCARD slots that can capture one show and play or capture another simultaneously.
A single ATSC HD tuner and an NTSC analog tuner are included in the recorder. Also, it eliminates the OLED of the original Series 3. Besides, the recorder incorporates a storage of 160GB that is capable of storing 20 hours of HD recording.
The HD recorder from TiVo comes along with a Series 2-style remote without programming or glowing keys.
HD and HDMI both outputs are catered by the recorder. Other peripherals can be attached through USB. Furthermore, networking is also possible via Ethernet or a phone line.
The TiVo HD will be available in the American market at the price of $300 (around 12,040 INR).
