NoteSlate tablet coming for real, website adds more details and images

NoteSlate Slate

‘Gadgetville’ isn’t new to products being killed straight from launch and never really seeing the light of day. So it’s only obvious to have expectations high of a product that has the words ‘Note’ and ‘Slate’ combined together and hope it’s released soon enough. Before tablet enthusiasts predict such a fate for its forthcoming slate, NoteSlate’s pulled things together and updated its website with more content and product shots of a slate going by the company’s name itself.

NoteSlate claims to give conventional pencil and paper use a fresh turn. Its interactive handwritten interface will enable users to draw, write, make a note and ‘do just about anything’ on the slate. Touch is all it will take to have the simple user interface on the device liven up. The slate additionally allows modification of imprints in a jiffy. From editing and deleting content to even copying and moving whole pages, there’s much it appears that can be done.

Users can also anticipate sharing their notes via USB or Wi-Fi. The inclusion of OCR should enable the slate to identify handwritten gestures and text too. It’s the NS Firmware 2.0 that runs the show for one page interface on the slate and comes complete with incorporated extensions. Offering a completely new means of interaction, the slate is just about 210mm x 310mm x 9mm in dimensions with its active display measuring up at 190 x 290mm.

The screen is said to deliver a resolution of 760 x 1080 while bearing a paper-like appearance. A trio of buttons – Save, Show and Delete are revealed in its frontal area. On the connectivity front, there’s a 3.5mm phone/mic combo jack, USB support and an SD card slot. The accompanying active pencil looks rather chic with an eraser on its top and there are also pencil color variations for color ‘noteslates’.

Going down by $99 doesn’t seem like a bad deal if this eInk slate does come around that is. There’s no mention of a launch date just yet.
